What an NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course Includes


Overview: If you’ve always wanted to learn how to use a pistol and have never known where to begin, here is a layout of what this course has to offer. You may come to this course afraid or even wary of firearms, but you will leave with a good deal of knowledge about firearms and their functions. We hope that you will also take with you the knowledge and level of responsibility required to become a firearm owner and begin to enjoy the world of shooting sports. This course is an introduction to firearm ownership in all aspects. This is an integral step in obtaining your CT gun license.

  • Live Firing

What To Expect:

  • A one day course involving loading, unloading, cleaning, safety storage, and live fire from a revolver and or semi-automatic pistols.
  • Small group to focus full attention on ensuring that your experience and knowledge is maximized.
  • Explanations of ammunitions, range rules, and laws surrounding pistol permits
  • You will receive the Basic Pistol Course Student Packet. This packet contains materials issued to students during the conduct of a class: NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting Handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure, Basic Practical Rocker and Flyer, Basic Firearm Training Program Brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program Booklet, Concealed Carry Holster Guide, Basic Pistol Student Exam, and Basic Pistol Course Certificate.

Students successfully completing this course are entitled to a National Rifle Association Certificate.

This certificate satisfies a requirement needed to apply for a pistol permit in the State of Connecticut, and other jurisdictions. All Materials are provided with this Course.
